The Udvar Hazy Annex of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum

November 24, 2004

Late in 2003 the new annex of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum called the Udvar Hazy Center. The basic idea was that the museum that they had on the National Mall wasn't big enough to hold all of the great exhibits that they had in their collection. They purchased a large portion of land near Dulles Airport, west of Washington, DC and the new annex was built.
