Laser Edge Lighting System

When my fancy pants HID lighting system tanked, I wanted to replace it with something simple and inexpensive. I wanted something that I didn't have to worry about. Something that would last, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if it exploded tomorrow. I found Laser Edge Lighting on MTBR.com in the Message Board section. Chad is the one man show that makes up Laser Edge Lighting. I was impressed with the prompt and thorough way that he asnwered my questions as well as the speed of his customer service. I ordered it on Monday. I received my handlebar light on Friday. The total cost for the system? $96 including shipping.

Here's what I received:

I haven't run it yet, but it looks and feels great. The only thing that isn't 100% thrilling about the light is that the charger doesn't have automatic shut off. You can either buy a timer to shut off the charger, or I imagine if you had a good quality charger for RC Cars or something, you could charge the batteries on a low amp charge and it would shut off when the voltage peaked. I'll check with Chad on that.

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet. I will this weekend and I'll report how it works. If I like it, I'll be sure to order a matching headlight.
