Hey folks.
I heard from my friend Greg that the 2007 Auldbrass Plantation tour is happening this weekend (November 3 and 4) in Beaufort, SC. I attended the tour in 2003 and it was amazing.Â
If you make it to Beaufort this weekend for the tour, please post up your impressions of the tour. How was the event run? What did you think of the plantation? What renovation/preservation work has been done lately? Is the table made out of the bottom half of a Zebra still on display? What exotic animals did you get to see? What was your favorite part of the tour? What would you like to have seen improved?Â
Thanks!
 Pete

We went and enjoyed the tour. Lines to the main house weren’t too bad–probably an hour wait. The day was absolutely beautiful. Saw the famous hippos and many zebras. Docents in the house were adequate and the plantation staff were quite insightful. So many favorite things–the grounds, the buildings, the animals and the site. I especially loved the gardens outside of the main house with the Medway statuary. The two new buildings were not open yet but could be seen from a distance. When I return home, I will forward photos. I definitely plan on attending in two years–tickets go on sale 8 months earlier and typically sell out–700 per day for the two day event.
